• Anyone may nominate a candidate for the WGIC DEI Trailblazer 2022 - Individual Champion with the candidate's permission. Self-nominations are welcome. 
• The Candidate must be a Geospatial Professional or a member of the Geospatial Community. 
• Nominees must not be currently serving on the WGIC board or any of the WGIC working groups or committees.  
• Nominations must demonstrate why the candidate should be considered for this prestigious award above all others. 

Nominations should reflect the ways a nominee has met at least one of the following criteria.

• Served as an outstanding advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion at the interpersonal, unit, and/or institutional level
• Can demonstrate key actions and interventions to remove barriers to attract and improve the working experience and engagement within the geospatial community
• Demonstrated a commitment to creating a culture of inclusion within their areas of influence and modeled respect or inclusive treatment when interacting with others; and/or
• Implemented an initiative, project, and/or program that cultivates/advances/models diversity, equity, and inclusion within the geospatial community
• Additionally, nominations may include supporting documentation that demonstrates the nominee's exceptional achievement(s) that meet the criteria for the awards.
